In observance of* Presidential Proclamation No. 1414* issued by President
Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo last year that institutionalizes the celebration of
the *National Biotechnology Week*, we are very pleased to inform you that we
will be celebrating the

*4TH NATIONAL BIOTECHNOLOGY WEEK*
*"Making Biotechnology Work for You"*

*November 24 - 28, 2008*

*Opening Ceremony:
Institute of Small-Scale Industries (ISSI), University of the Philippines,
Diliman, Quezon City*

National Biotechnology Week is an annual undertaking aimed at highlighting
Filipino Biotechnology and
enhancing its application to reach government's targets on the Millennium
Development Goals (MDGs):
fight poverty, enhance human development and build prosperity for the
greatest number of Filipino
people.
This week-long event is a concerted initiative with other government
agencies such as Department of Science and Technology, Department of
Education, Department of Internal and Local Government, Department of
Health, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, and Department of
Trade and Industry, as well as organizations from the private sector.
